While the Ashram started growing, the simple and guileless village folk developed tremendous faith in the Swami and looked to him for the solutions of their problems, including medical help. In such a compelling situation the Swami could not help but start using indigenous herbs and other flora from the surrounding hillside to help but start using indigenous herbs and other flora from the surrounding hillside to help cure their minor ailments. This was the humble beginning of the Medical Center-Sri Ramakrishna Seva ashram. The Medical Center. as it stands today, is the only source of medical relief in the entire vicinity and it is highly depended upon by the hill fold. Situated in one of the remotest areas of the country, this Medical Centre caters to the suffering humanity covering a radius of 50 kms.

The successors of Swami Vivekananda have kept the flame of service burning through this Medical Centre with their unstinted devotion surcharged with philanthropic zeal. This Medical manned by a dedicated monastic qualified doctor and paramedical staff, provides basic medical assistance to more than 50 surrounding villages. The serious patients are referred to the government/private hospitals at Tanakpur and nearby place and even to our Sevashrams at Lucknow, Vrindavan and Kankhal. It serves on an average ten thousand patients annually, all free of charges.
